Dear Kendoka,

We are happy to announce the International Kendo Camp for Youths (age 18-28) in Budapest with the following details.

AIM OF EVENT
– Systematically learn traditional practice methods of Kendo
– To learn the basic knowledge to deeply understand the cultural nature of Kendo and Budo.
– Experience the joy of international exchange through kendo

PARTICIPATION
The program is for youth Kendokas with
– at leas 3 years of practice
– with a minimum of 1.Dan
– who is a National Team member or planning to be one.
– Two candidate/nation
   (the candidate limit per nation is based on case by case, HKF has a right to select the final candidates!)
– between the ages of 18-28
– who has referral from his/her previously attended Kendo friend or the president of the Dojo. (Please send the referral(s) to < info (at) hungarykendocup.hu > before due date!)
– Knowledge of Kendo kata is essential
– sufficient English knowledge is important
– For the Saturday HKC Team Competition, you can put your Team together during camp time!

The Hungarian Kendo Federation offering a grant for selected Kendokas whose going to receive a free accommodation during the event. This announcement will be made within 2 days after the deadline!

The completely renovated and modernized Budapest National Civil Service University or formerly known as Ludovika is located in the Orczy Garden in the district 8th.district. The open campus is a real gem of Pest and an upscale location for the camp.

Meal and Welcome party
Meals starting with a breakfast on 19.07. Tuesday end with a breakfast on 22.07. Friday. Sayonara Party 21.07. Thursday also at the Ludovika Campus “menza” right beside the dormitory with smorgasbord serving style, with all you can drink beer + wine + soft drinks.

FEES
€ 120/person
Accommodation is free of charge for selected Kendokas for 4 nights and the Sayonara party. If the applicant will not be selected then it still possible to attend and she/he has to communicate directly with HKF through info[at]hungarykendocup.hu
– Meals starting with a breakfast on 19.07 end with a breakfast on 22.07.
– Seminar fee
– Lecture fee

Payment must arrive before 18.07.

Please note that in our new regulation the examination starts with NIHON KENDO KATA!

Pandemic situation in Hungary:
Travel to Hungary is once again unrestricted!
The lifting of epidemiological entry restrictions means that, from Monday the 7th of March 2022, travellers can enter Hungary without the need for vaccination or immunity certificates, or any kind of test or quarantine obligation. Simultaneously, the lifting of the special rules of access for certain services and events means that vaccination certificates are no longer required for entry to indoor congresses or conferences, accommodation establishments, spas, sporting or cultural events, music and dance festivals, or outdoor events of any kind. The wearing of masks in public spaces is no longer mandatory, although some venues may still recommend their use.
